Technology is Disruptive - And Empowering

Technology modifies the way we paint, live our lives, and laugh. Technology can empower companies with increased productivity, faster improvement and production cycles, higher selection through personnel, and stronger customer service. But the benefits of adding a new era are not always clear. Technology often, in the beginning, interrupts before it can be empowered.

Although the ideas developed in this article may have general application, their purpose is specifically to describe the incorporation of new information and communication technologies into business techniques.

Information technology includes computer systems and their peripheral systems, as well as records in nearby area networks. Communication involves the interest of any voice and video, including the phone device and the associated device, as well as the growing communication routes to wide-area networks.

Technology changes the business process.

Every move made within a business entity is part of a process. Sometimes the perspectives are expressed without difficulty and are easily observed, as in the direction of a purchase order. At various times, the method is not so clear but it does exist anyway, even assuming by default.

New technologies have been introduced in the business:

Accelerate the current strategy.

Capacity building of existing strategies

Change strategy.

In changing strategies, new technologies will often allow new ways of starting an enterprise that were not possible before.

In addition to explicitly developing existing methods, new technologies may interfere with the first introduction. This is the result of trading behavior and / or relationships with others. When disruption occurs, productivity is damaged in the beginning, unless brand new methods are known as vintage. At this point, hopefully, the goal of achieving a higher level of productivity has been achieved at the level at which it began before the arrival of the new generation.

So a typical cycle that accompanies the creation of new technologies includes:

Disruption

Low productivity, and, later,

A high level of productivity from the starting point

The clear dream of introducing new technology is:

Minimize disruption.

Minimize the time it takes to increase productivity.

Get the most out of your productivity.

Recognizing these dreams is very helpful:

The context in which the procedures work, ie those that may be affected by the modification of the specific procedure.

Democratize the potential of technology

Types of humans reacting differently to new technologies

The techniques used by a company to operate and the creation of the latest technology does not exist in isolation. They both deal with their confidence as they choose to embark on their play activities.

Social relationships within the corporation and potential relationships with the businesses with which you enterprise.

Political (power) structures within an organization

How do people view themselves and their abilities?

Technology can be democratized. If it is used to create and disseminate information that is useful for the mission and goals of the business entity, it can be a high quality equivalent between the control and the "phases" of the staff. The key word is "distribution". If access to data is decentralized, and the smooth flow of information is permitted, then "frontline" people can increase the amount of their choice and satisfactory choices when they do not contain layers of management.

Types of people from a technology point of view

By introducing a new generation to your organization, you may find it helpful to recognize the following 4 types of people:

Innovators / embracers

Excited

Acceptors

Disobedient

Innovators will see new technologies for themselves. They will be instrumental in introducing new technologies on the spot that the agency would not have known otherwise. They will be a "fork" in advancing new technology on the spot that they think may be useful (or just "clean") but will no longer be in the agency's agenda or goals. These will include new technologies in humans when delivered by others, often the first ones to incorporate and use them altogether, and the ability of others to make full use of new technologies. Will be able to help

Fans will be excited about the new technology. They will not usually look for it but will want to incorporate it into their strategy as appropriate. As a result of their openness, they will learn on a regular basis without any difficulty how to use the latest technology and can also be helpful in helping others by gaining knowledge of the method.

Oppose new technologies and often speak out against them. They are often gripped by any change and often will never change if they don't need to or leave before they change the "way they work".

For each of these types of people, the productivity versus time curve will look different. Think about how each person in your organization fits into these four categories. Think about how it affects the full benefits you have carefully targeted. Think about how the implementation of technologies affects your ability to discover additional benefits. Understanding the differences can help smooth out rough spots during and after the implementation process.

Mitigation; Increase empowerment.

Understanding the context in which the process exists, the democratic potential of technology, and the types of people will help you achieve the goals outlined above so that payments are faster than the smooth introduction of new technologies.

Also, make new technologies transparent to the user or, at the very least, make them as intuitive as possible. The introduction of new technology and the extra time planned before training employees in the use of technology can provide many times more return than the hours spent in planning and training. You can achieve a faster increase in productivity, less impact on customers, and less burden on support staff.

With proper planning and training, productivity curves will grow faster and higher than would otherwise be achieved.
